The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner will:

The Advanced Practice Nurse will be an integral part of the health care team, working with physicians, nurses and nursing or medical assistants to provide comprehensive high-quality ambulatory care, as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factors (Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics).

Provide Direct Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care within prescribed training limits and in consultation with supervising physician
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and system-specific examinations when appropriate
- Perform obstetric and gynecological testing including STI testing, cultures, and wet mounts
- Perform specialized diagnostic and treatment procedures such as: Cervical biopsies, Endometrial biopsies, Urodynamic testing
- Document all aspects of patient care promptly and thoroughly
Provide Assessment and Clinical Decision Making
- Order and assess diagnostic data (laboratory, pathology, physical exam, radiology) to make appropriate treatment decisions
- Interpret diagnostic studies (lab work, x-rays)
- Review routine laboratory reports for abnormalities according to degree of urgency
- Prescribe medications for diagnosed conditions in accordance with nurse practitioner regulations
Provide Patient Education and Preventative Care
- Provide preventative healthcare education to all patients as appropriate
- Provide condition-specific patient education
Provide Care Coordination and Follow-up
- Collaborate with physicians when indicated
- Initiate referrals for specialized treatment
- Contact patients for follow-up evaluation or treatment of conditions detected through screening
- Coordinate scheduling for follow-up tests and consultations
- Assist with contacting patients who missed appointments, assessing urgency for rescheduling
Participate in Education and Professional Development
- Teach and precept nurse practitioner and physician assistant students
- Provide in-service education for nurses and medical assistants on women's health problems and management
- Share nurse practitioner healthcare perspectives with physicians and medical students
- Assist with emergency policy coordination and mock training exercises
- Participate in staff development and educational activities to maintain competency
- Attend mandatory in-service updates and continuing education programs
Provide Administrative and Quality Improvement
- Review current policies and suggest revisions
- Identify needs for new policies to improve efficiency and patient experience
- Collaborate with nurse manager and medical director on policy development
- Maintain required certifications and documentation

Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Current Advance Practice Nursing licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Current CDS and DEA required
• Master's degree in nursing required
• Two (2) years' experience in specialty strongly preferred
• Certified as a nurse practitioner in the State of New Jersey within area of specialty
• BLS certification, as approved by the American Heart Association

Schedule: Full time, 4-10HR days, No Weekends, No Call

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
