A culinary, housekeeping or clerical role is a way to get your foot in the door and can be the first step in building a career in health care. In these positions, you get to interact with many other areas, learn about our system and discover your interests. There is always room to grow and move up. You can work in other departments or take on new challenges in the same department.

  • Many non-clinical roles are entry level and ideal for candidates with little or minimal experience.

Clerical and Administrative

Work with our patients to help them register, make appointments and pay their bills. Opportunities are available at various locations and with several scheduling options. Some of the roles include patient access representative, biller, department secretary and information desk clerk.

On this team, you will help prepare and deliver meals to patients within our cafeteria, restaurant or catering services. Housekeeping

In a housekeeping role, you'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at our facilities. Some of the common duties include disinfecting patient rooms, cleaning common areas, office and restocking supplies and removing waste. The roles in housekeeping are critical in meeting health and safety standards to prevent the spread of hospital acquired infections. Roles include environmental services aide, medical waste handlers, patient liaisons and shift coordinators.

Maintenance

The maintenance department plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of the health care's physical infrastructure and systems. Many of their responsibilities include maintenance of the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems as well as groundskeeping. Maintenance is also responsible for space planning and maintains oversight of all construction projects. Compliance with regulatory requirements related to building codes and safety standards to maintain accreditation and excellent quality of care is of the upmost importance for the maintenance department. Maintenance plays a critical role in supporting Saint Peter's operations, infrastructure, and safety to provide a conducive environment for patient care and health care delivery. Some maintenance roles include general maintenance, HVAC technician, electrician, plumber, groundskeeper, carpenter and painter.
