Your Devotion
Makes The Difference.

At Saint Peter's, our nurses are passionate about the care they provide and are committed to supporting their co-workers in a warm, friendly atmosphere. We offer a family-oriented culture where you will get to know everyone you work with. We are committed to taking care of you, teaching you and helping you achieve your goals.

I have worked at Saint Peter's for 49 years because the atmosphere is positive, I feel like family and my coworkers and managers are awesome. This has been the best experience and job I could have ever asked for. I love it here.

-Joanne, Operating Room RN

Our common culture for nursing is caring for our patients' wellbeing, safety and the quality of their care. Our nurses do an outstanding job, and our nurse leadership is amazing. I am in complete awe of their knowledge and dedication.

-Eileen, Manager Pediatric Billing/Coding

Saint Peter's has a very supportive working environment for new staff. We pride ourselves on being a Magnet facility, which creates an environment and culture to support our nurses in delivering the very best possible care to our patients and families.

-Pamela, Director of Women & Children Services

Six-Times Magnet Setting

We are the 5th hospital worldwide to earn Magnet status SIX times in a row. That extraordinary achievement speaks volumes about how invested our nurses are in our mission – and how extraordinary they are as practitioners. There are many other reasons nurses love working for us.

  • We are an independent, faith-based hospital that serves the entire community, including the underserved.
  • We are a nurse-driven organization where you will have autonomy and can be involved in decisions.
  • You'll love the camaraderie here, working in a setting that can be described as respectful, diverse and extremely supportive.
  • We offer excellent shift differentials, self-scheduling and high certification rates.

Avenues for Ongoing Growth

We offer support for your ongoing development, whether you wish to explore different areas of nursing or are looking to advance. In fact, 99% of our nurse managers are promoted from within. Your manager will focus on your individual growth and development and help you reach your goals. We offer free CEUs, as well as reimbursement for qualified certifications and tests.

  • Our Nurse Residency Program offers training and experience, with monthly start dates.
  • You will work on your unit with a preceptor for three 12-hour shifts per week. For medical/surgical units, this portion of the program is 6-8 weeks. For specialty units, it is 10-16 weeks.
  • You will receive IV and EKG certification during orientation.
  • Virtual and in-person monthly learning modules, including simulation activities, are assigned by clinical education.
  • You will be assigned a full- or part-time RN position on one of our units upon hire.
  • You start earning PTO on your first day and are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month following your start date.

Nurse Extern Program

Saint Peter's University Hospital offers a paid 10-week Nurse Extern Program that is geared toward supporting and enhancing the clinical skills of junior and senior nursing students as they prepare to transition to practice. Nurse externs will work alongside our expert clinical nursing team who will aid in providing hands-on skills and simulation activities for each extern. The shift schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week on the day or night shift, including working every other weekend. Applications are open in the fall and training begins in May.
