Ultrasound
The Ultrasound Tech Per Diem will:
- Perform ultrasound procedures following the SPUH ultrasound scanning protocol appropriate to the ages of the patients.
- Prepare patient for ultrasound procedure- this includes proper clothing, educating patient and family - if pediatric patient ease fears.
- Assist Radiologist to obtain a diagnosis.
- Determine when a patient should be held until their physician is contacted with results of the procedure.
- Accurately record a complete technologist 'note' to include all pertinent information concerning the exam/procedure.
Requirements:
- Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology.
- RDMS required.
- Requires communication skills sufficient for effective communication with patients, physicians and staff.
- BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
