The Sr. Registration Representative will:

  • Perform scheduling and registration tasks with strong attention to detail. Must accurately obtain and enter patient demographic, insurance, referral and physician information into mandatory EMR registration fields, scanning identification and insurance card(s) at each visit and mindfully checking referrals, pre-certifications, authorizations and patient prescriptions prior to procedure date in accordance with Hospital, Departmental and Registration Policies and Procedures.
  • Prioritize patient registration according to number of concurrent sessions, patient appointment times, patient back up and patient volume. Provide patients with clear understanding and explanation of appropriate forms to complete or workflows to expect.
  • Retrieve messages in the morning and when receiving phone calls or greeting individuals - do so in a professional, patient and courteous manner by stating name of department and identifies self, triaging to determine urgency and reasons before dispatching requests to appropriate personnel or taking accurate messages in accordance with established department procedures. Communicate if there will be a wait and document patient encounters accordingly.
  • Prepare for upcoming patient sessions by obtaining referrals and making reminder calls in advance. Pre-register when appropriate.
  • Perform Medical Record and clerical functions in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures such as faxing, scanning documents into EMR, pulling charts and filing.
  • Collect, deposit and log patient payments according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Reference patient insurance card for appropriate specialty co-payment, providing patient with a receipt and closing out each date of service accordingly.


Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write well enough to type, edit, and proof business correspondence and prepare reports.
  • Three (3) years related secretarial work experience. (60 WPM required).
  • Must be able to accurately and efficiently record and type dictation involving a normal range of business vocabulary or a limited and recurring range of special terminology; normally acquired through completion of a secretarial science program.
  • Work requires a comprehensive understanding of department/unit policies, procedures and operations in order to assume non-complex administrative details such as arranging meetings and conferences, answering routine questions from callers and visitors, and assembling background information, normally acquired in nine to twelve months or related experience with the Hospital. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal callers, patients and visitors, as well as a limited number of external contacts.


We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
