Plant Operations
The Power Plant Operator will:
- Operate high pressure boilers and a variety of power plant equipment such as CHP, generators, fuel systems and air compressors
- Perform preventative maintenance, maintaining all operating logs, assisting during emergencies such as snow, fire, flood, and power loss
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
- Must possess a comprehensive understanding of power plant equipment and operations, normally required with 3-5 years of on-the-job experience.
- Must possess a current NJ Blue Seal Stationary Engineer's license.
- Environment exposes operator to varying temperature conditions and high noise levels.
- Environment exposes operator to electrical, mechanical and temperature hazards.
- Valid and in good standing driver's license issued by the state of New Jersey preferred due to the possibility of driving a facility vehicle to our various locations.
