The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident will:
The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident will be in a structured 12-month program that builds upon the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities gained from an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. The program will provide the opportunity to accelerate their growth beyond entry-level professional competence in patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services, and to further the development of leadership skills that can be applied in any position and in any practice setting.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident will:
The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident will be in a structured 12-month program that builds upon the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities gained from an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. The program will provide the opportunity to accelerate their growth beyond entry-level professional competence in patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services, and to further the development of leadership skills that can be applied in any position and in any practice setting.
- Serve as a staff pharmacist every other weekend and perform duties and services consistent with a staff and clinical pharmacist, and consistent with the ASHP residency educational goals and objectives.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services ie, participating in patient care rounds, providing drug information to hospital health care professionals, medication counseling to patients, and other related duties as specified by RPD and/or preceptor(s).
- Provide in-services to educate hospital health care professionals.
- Provide at least one continuing education program to educate pharmacists.
- Present a poster at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and/or a presentation at Eastern States Residency Conference.
- Complete a research project (to be determined within the first 2 months of the program) that is suitable for publication by the end of the program.

Requirements:
- Licensure in the State of New Jersey as a Registered Pharmacist or evidence of eligibility for same required.
- Graduate from a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Hospital staff at all levels.
- Ability to establish, develop and maintain professionally effective relationships with Hospital administrators, physicians, peers and fellow Hospital employees.
