We are seeking a full-time Pediatric Psychiatrist (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist) to join our growing Division of Child Psychiatry at The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Our psychiatrists deliver compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, and emergency settings - serving one of New Jersey's most diverse and underserved pediatric populations.
Opportunity Highlights
• Scope of Practice: Full spectrum of child and adolescent psychiatric conditions from early childhood through young adulthood, including mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, psychosis, trauma, eating disorders, and substance use
• Practice Settings: Inpatient consultation-liaison, outpatient psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry, and emergency psychiatric evaluations
• Autism-Affirming Environment: Practice within a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) - the only children's hospital in the region with full staff training in autism-informed, neurodiversity-affirming care

Psychiatric Services
Consultation-Liaison: Inpatient consultation and liaison services for children with co-occurring psychiatric needs, acute behavioral crises, or psychological distress related to illness and hospitalization
Emergency Psychiatry: Emergency psychiatric evaluations for patients in acute crisis, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, and severe behavioral disturbances - with crisis assessment, stabilization, and care coordination
Outpatient Psychiatry: Ongoing diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and coordination with therapists, schools, and community providers
Adolescent Psychiatry: Specialized care for adolescents in collaboration with Adolescent Medicine, addressing mood, eating disorders, substance use, gender identity support, and psychosocial development
Conditions Evaluated & Treated
ADHD, anxiety disorders (GAD, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD), and depressive and bipolar spectrum disorders
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - behavioral and psychiatric co-management
Psychotic disorders including early-onset schizophrenia
Eating disorders including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa
Trauma and trauma-related disorders; substance use disorders in adolescents
Disruptive behavior disorders, somatic symptom, and functional neurological disorders

Requirements:
• MD or DO licensure in the State of New Jersey (or eligible)

Full-time compensation at Saint Peter's Healthcare System ranges from 175,000.00 - 750,000.00 USD, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, years of experience, academic and administrative appointment, and pre-established metrics on productivity/patient engagement/quality.
