The Medicaid Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate and monitor Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare Presumptive Eligibility
    (PE), and Charity Care applications from intake through final determination.
  • Serve as the hospital's Presumptive Eligibility (PE) Coordinator-train and
    support staff, ensure certification compliance, perform quality reviews, and
    submit required reports to the State.
  • Function as liaison with County Welfare Agencies, NJ Department of Human
    Services (DHS), and the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services
    (DMAHS).
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case tracking and reporting in
    accordance with hospital policy and HIPAA standards.
  • Assist patients and families with understanding eligibility requirements,
    completing applications, and accessing needed services with compassion
    and sensitivity.
  • Educate and support Resource Advisors on policy updates, documentation
    requirements, and process improvements.


Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in business, social services, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in Medicaid eligibility, hospital financial counseling, or public benefit coordination.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NJ FamilyCare, Presumptive Eligibility, and Charity Care programs.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills; ability to interact
    compassionately with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel are necessary) and hospital systems
    (Paragon, Epic, Cerner, or similar).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.


We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
