The Emergency Department Assistant Nurse Manager will:

  • Directly and indirectly supervise staff of Registered Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Maternity or Patient Care Techs, Nursing Unit Secretaries
  • Promote patient satisfaction and a positive work environment
  • Conduct daily patient rounds on assigned unit and Nursing Quality Improvement activities on the unit
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in planning for and implementing mechanisms to encourage growth and development of staff
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care activities considering growth and development factors appropriate to age in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
  • Coordinate monthly staff meetings in collaboration with nurse manager; encourages open communication of unit specific issues
  • Work in collaboration with nurse manager in completing and providing input for annual performance appraisals
  • Conduct employee rounds; identify and communicate trends to nurse manager, and implement actions to address trends identified
  • Review employee satisfaction survey; provides input to nurse manager in the development of actions plans


Requirements:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in specialty preferred
  • Supervisory experience desired, which may include prior charge nurse, committee leadership, etc.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association
  • National certification or nursing administrative certification within one year in specialty specific to care provided
  • PALS, ACLS as required by specialty.
  • ECG Course
  • Critical Care Course (within 6 mos of hire)


FT days

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
