The Certified Nurse Midwife will:
Saint Peter's University Hospital is looking to hire a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for its growing midwifery practice. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic candidate who is looking to participate in a team-based model and values a variety of responsibilities.
Our Birth Center is equipped with tubs for hydrotherapy, intermittent auscultation, various tools for comfort measures, and supportive collaborative physician backup. The hospital rooms are also equipped with wireless monitoring for freedom of movement.

Requirements:
Schedule: The position is flexible but will entail a combination of day/night/weekend/holiday call and office hours. All shifts are in-house and include a 24-hour call and two office days. This may be adjusted depending on the needs of the team. Experience is preferred but not required. First Assist and Limited Ultrasonography experience preferred but not required, will offer on-site training.
We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.
The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.

The certified nurse midwife (CNM) will:
- Function independently but in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide midwifery services to patients
- Responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to the antepartum, intrapartum and post-partum and newborn patients as well as routine well woman health care
- Provide services on varying shifts within the department in Labor and Delivery, PET Unit, Birth Center and Family Health Center/Women's Ambulatory Care
- Care for intrapartum patients at the free-standing Mary V. O'Shea Birth Center on campus and/or Labor and Delivery

Requirements:
- Graduation from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) (formerly known as the American College of Nurse-Midwives Division of Accreditation)
- Master's or doctoral degree
- Current CDS and DEA required
- Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first certification for which they are eligible.
- Current active licensure to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife in the nurse midwife category as per the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners.
- STABLE Program Certification preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certified.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider I (NRP) certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association. NRP II (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider II) certification to be obtained during clinical orientation.
