We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. The APN/PA will be an integral part of the health care team, working with physicians, nurses and nursing or medical assistants to provide comprehensive high-quality ambulatory care.

Saint Peter's Physician Associates (SPPA), a member of Saint Peter's Healthcare System, is a growing network of primary care and specialty physicians dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care across Somerset and Middlesex counties in New Jersey. Our primary care physicians serve as the cornerstone of each patient's health journey, attending to general health needs while serving as the keeper of each patient's medical history. Services include annual physicals, disease prevention and wellness, disease and medication management, flu and pneumonia vaccinations, and routine blood work. Our physicians work closely with a broad network of medical specialists - including endocrinologists who manage diabetes, cardiologists, pulmonologists, and wound care specialists - to ensure patients receive the appropriate screenings and comprehensive care needed to monitor their health. For patients facing a serious illness or injury requiring extensive treatment or a hospital stay, our primary care physicians are members of the medical staff at Saint Peter's University Hospital, ensuring continuity of care and the highest quality treatment.

APN/PA will:
Physician Assistant Requirements:
• License to practice as PA in the state of New Jersey (pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination - PANCE) or for new graduate a temporary authorization, while waiting for license.
• Current CDS and DEA license required.
• BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
• Graduate from an accredited PA program.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• Certification Renewal Requirements- 100 hours of CME every 2 years.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner Requirements:• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Current Advance Practice Nursing licensure in the State of New Jersey
• Current CDS and DEA required
• Master's degree in nursing required
• Two (2) years' experience in specialty strongly preferred
• Certified as a nurse practitioner in the State of New Jersey within area of specialty
• BLS certification, as approved by the American Heart Association
We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.
The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.

APN/PA will:
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an attending physician, including urgent care visits and follow-up patient management. Document all patient care encounters within 24 hours and in accordance with practice guidelines. Assist with procedures, venipuncture, vaccine administration, and other clinical tasks as needed.
Clinical Support Review routine laboratory reports and notify the responsible clinician of abnormalities based on degree of urgency. Process medication refills, complete referrals, work/school notes, and coordinate with other healthcare providers as needed. Demonstrate competency in caring for patients across all age groups, from neonates through geriatrics. - Patient Education: Assist in developing and implementing patient education activities appropriate to the patient's age and developmental stage. Explain diagnoses, procedures, and home care instructions clearly, supplementing verbal teaching with printed or pictorial materials as needed.
- Practice Development: Participate in reviewing and revising practice policies to improve efficiency and patient experience. Assist in providing in-service education for nurses and medical assistants on common medical diagnoses and the PA role within the department.
