The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, under the direction of a qualified physician, administers radioactive materials and operates nuclear medicine equipment in order to perform imaging, laboratory and dynamic function studies necessary to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist Per Diem will:
  • Prepare patient for nuclear medicine diagnostic testing, as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle factors (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics)
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and maintains records, as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle factors (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics)
  • Prepare and operate imaging equipment, as appropriate to the ages of the patients growth and development through the life cycle factors


Requirements:
  • Possesses NJ State license in nuclear medicine.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of scintillation cameras and related computers.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with other departments within the Hospital, attending physicians and other hospitals.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with extremely ill and/or irritable patients.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
