The Echo Lab Coordinator will:
Performs diagnostic echocardiographic studies on patients as ordered by physicians. Must have knowledge of cardiac anatomy, identifying life threatening pathology, knowledge of cardiac diagnostic equipment, techniques and procedures to perform or assist in the performance of clinical tests. Responsible for daily activities within the echo lab to ensure that the lab runs in an efficient manner. Assists in the training of staff. Responsible for the preparation of lab for successful accreditation and re-accreditations.

Requirements:

• Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology or equivalent.

• Knowledge of cardiac diagnostic equipment, techniques and procedures required to perform or assist in the performance of clinical tests and procedures.

• Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, deal effectively with medical, nursing, technical and other staff.

• Work requires standing and walking 50% of the time.

• National registry with a RDMS and/or RCDS required.

• BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
