The Medical Assistant will:
  • Assist with the ambulatory patient's arrival during a patient session.
  • Monitor basic physiological parameters.
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with the procedures of the various patient sessions and as appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of blood specimen procurement within scope of practice.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Demonstrate competency in performing all procedures within scope of practice and requirements of position as appropriate to the age of the patients, their growth and development.
  • Provide continuous support to provider for all patient related tasks.
  • Telephone and Appointment scheduling.
  • Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures.
  • Be responsible for maintaining exam rooms, utility rooms, and supply carts in a clean and orderly condition and ascertaining that all are supplied appropriately and that equipment is maintained.
  • Report all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences of an urgent nature as they develop


Requirements:
  • Knowledge of standard Precautions, body mechanics, and patient care procedures acquired through completion of Medical Assistant certificate program.
  • Work requires the ability to communicate, interpret and respond verbally and in writing to or for patients, family members, and patient care team members in order to document completion of patient care tasks on patient chart; to communicate patient need to appropriate care provided; to support patient education; and to facilitate team goals and effectiveness.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
