The Receptionist Registrar will:

• Requires excellent communication skills for the effective and courteous interaction with a diverse group of patients, hospital personnel, physicians and their staff, outside offices, etc. Bilingual ability preferred.
• Requires good office and organizational skills. 2-3 years' experience in an office and patient/customer environment.
• Computer expertise with knowledge of word processing and database software. Skills with Microsoft Word and Excel of particular importance.
• Requires the ability to project a positive image through interactions with patients and their families, outside institutions, physicians and other Hospital departments and staff.
• Requires attention to detail and computer accuracy as pertains to data entry and patient scheduling.
We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.
The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.

Infusion Room
The Receptionist Registrar will:
- Be responsible to treat patients warmly and in an empathetical manner on the phone and in person. Welcomes patients positively as they arrive for various types of appointments. Streamlines the patient flow by prioritizing patients on arrival according to their scheduled (or unscheduled) appointments. Screens patients/visitors and promptly notifies appropriate personnel when required. Preforms check-out process upon appointment completion.
- Be responsible for pre and full registration of patients, obtaining the required information to properly register them into the hospital's electronic medical record system (EMR) according to protocol established by the Admitting Department. Includes obtaining insurance referrals, prescription referrals, copayments, medical record release form and necessary signatures for consent forms. Verification and scanning of photo identification and insurance cards. Understanding and implementing downtime procedures should they occur during any point of the registration process.
- Advise patients of their right to financial counseling and obtains the required documentation. Maintains a current knowledge of basic billing practices of the Hospital/department to answer questions or direct them to the appropriate hospital staff member, by attending routine billing/registration hospital meetings. Assist patients with the completion of all necessary forms and documentation, review registration documents with all new patients, copy insurance and ID per protocol.
- Assist clinical staff with chart prep and collate all incoming records via fax, paper, and electronic media.
